Between August 2009 to August 2010 I did a pet project on Betta, a type of Siamese fighting fish. Had this idea of an online betting game where live Betta are put into a glass pond and compete in fights. I knew it was wrong morally but then it was an idea that popped up and I wanted to find out how far I could go with it.
After registering a domain and signing up for a hosting package, I started to build up the content. Using my 3D software, I created a hexagonal shape glass tank. I wanted the whole system to be as automatic as it can be, remotely control if at all possible. Can not recall exactly how I did it but I was able to screen live images of my pet fish via my site. I was quite excited about the whole concept but reality soon set in. Betting on the lives of Betta through a fight was not at all the right thing to do. Don’t think I was sending the right message to my Kidos either.
Anyway, gathered some technical know-hows and learned some lesson out of this whole endeavor. Unable to afford the time to expand the concept, I decided to shelf the project. Till now its just another pet project of mine.
